After the very positive experience I had working with MAkinÉ for Disney Channel, doing the On-Air Graphics Package for the new show “Elena of Avalor” they tapped us for a full redesign of the Disney Channel On-Air Package, they wanted to create a graphics package that felt very in sync with kids TV viewing trends theses days.
The design process led us into this interesting rabbit-hole from which we emerged with this bubbly, profusely emoji-fied, swipe-y, DC Graphics Package 2017.
It was very fun to work on the animation for some of the pieces, the typography and many other graphics elements that seemed straight from our phones or tablets.
But the most fun I had was developing this toolkit for generating the high volume of pieces that DC required, it was a combination of After Effects expressions, scripts and even an Spreadsheet, it was an interesting process that definitely appealed to my amateur coder’s sensibilities.
What a great experience, thanks to all the people involved: The nice people at Disney Channel, MAkinE, fellow artists Alberto Hadyar, Miguel Monteagudo & Chaz Waters, and as always, putting it all together with a bow in a nice Showreel Otto Scheuren.
